Protect your Brand like you Protect your Body

Do you know how to best protect your business and the brand you are building through intellectual property? Whether it is your name, logo, website, products, or services.  We will talk about what you should consider and why it really does matter. Once you identify the most important assets for your business and brand, I can help you map out how to protect your brand like you protect your body!

Angela Coxe

Owner

Angela Coxe is a patent and intellectual property strategist with over 18 years of experience including time with a top 20 tech company and with a modern branding law firm.  She helps technology companies, startups, innovators, and small business owners protect what they're building and turn it into long-term value. A Partner at ESCA Legal in New York, she works across patents, trademarks, and copyrights. She helps you protect and monetize your ideas and your brand. She is known for one thing in particular: she thinks like an executive, not just an attorney.

Her perspective was shaped on the inside. Before private practice, Angela worked in-house at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where she saw how a major technology company actually makes intellectual property decisions. She worked with the innovators and the leadership, at the intersection of where strategy, risk, and revenue all meet. That experience is the difference between filing a patent and building a strategy. She doesn't just protect the invention in front of a client. She maps where the business is going and protects the territory around it before competitors arrive.

Angela's background is deliberately interdisciplinary. She holds a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science from Lafayette College, a J.D. from Widener University Commonwealth Law School, and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from The George Washington University School of Law. She has secured patent protection for clients across computer hardware and software, medical devices, consumer products, and emerging technology, and she writes and speaks regularly on patent strategy, AI and IP, and how companies can build portfolios that hold up.

She is at her best in the room where the hard concept needs to become a clear decision. Clients and audiences consistently describe the same thing: she takes the most complex parts of intellectual property and makes them make sense, in plain language, with real-world examples, so leaders can actually act on them.
