Jennifer runs a business that provides a service. She has no control over the price of the products she sells or the experience that her clients receive after they buy from her. In fact, her customers have absolutely no obligation to use her services. Her main competitor is the internet - maybe you've heard of it?
Factors such as the weather, the government, labor strikes, mechanical issues, power outages, construction and illness all routinely affect her clients. Yet she is celebrating 50 years in business!
Jennifer has a few secrets to share about leadership through evolution, and the importance of family and giving back to her community.
In October 2001, Jennifer purchased Travelennium in the wake of the worst period in the travel industry's history. Armed with a college degree in business and 15 years working in various capacities at Travelennium, she dove right into a sink or swim situation. At that time, there were over 37,000 travel agencies in the U.S. Today, approximately 7,000 remain. Jennifer immediately assembled a team of professionals and began her journey as a business entrepreneur. Through Jennifer's determination and diligence, Travelennium has survived some very rough waters and is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2018.
