What's Right Today?By Linda Larsen
So - let's start out the day with a new question. Let's begin with "What's Right Today?" Then notice what answers come up. But beware! The first answers that show up may be ones like, "nothing!", "zip!", "zero!" And when you get those answers, simply go back to the keyboard and ask your computer brain to search more files for what's right. Ask questions like, "well, what could be right today?" Or "What's right today that I haven't noticed before?" Keep asking. You will find answers. And when you do, acknowledge those right things. Mention them. Thank the people who may be responsible. Let them know you noticed. You can also do this. Post a large poster board in your office - somewhere highly visible to everyone. Write "What's Right Today?" in bold letters across the top. Ask everyone to focus on that question during the day. Suggest that when they find those right things, they can write down what they noticed on a post-it note and stick in on the board. What you'll find is that more often, more people...
