Return to Fill Your Heart with Joy!

Future home for the family of PO2 Anthony Thompson
Work on the home for the family of PO2 Anthony Thompson

Our time for showing gratitude to a hero had arrived!
Our time to lend a hand was at hand.

We were in Houston, Texas, January 7-9, 2010,
assisting Homes for Our Troops build a new home for
the family of Petty Officer Anthony Thompson!

At the 2009 eWomenNetwork International Conference, in August, we awarded the 2009 Humanitarian of the Year Femtor Award to John Gonsalves, the founder of Homes for Our Troops; and we showcased Yvonne Thompson as a woman whose husband, Anthony, was severely wounded while serving in Iraq with a U.S. Marine unit.

Anthony is currently at a Tampa hospital where he has been receiving care and therapy for his brain injury which occurred on April 20, 2007 near Fallujah, Iraq.

In conjunction with Homes for Our Troops, we members of eWomenNetwork collectively pledged to help build Yvonne a new adapted house and turn it into home so that she can finally bring her family together for the first time since Anthony's accident.

The eWomenNetwork Foundation formed a group to go to Houston to help break ground and be part of Homes for Our Troops' "Build Brigade."
