VIDEO MEDIA LAB

About the Video Media Lab

We provide you with 10 minutes to tape one 60-second introduction, commercial, sales message or really anything you want to communicate about your business in the Video Media Lab. This is a television (high quality) production experience designed to present and showcase you in the most professional manner. We will provide your Video Media Lab taping to you on a DVD and in an Internet compatible file at the International Conference. You will retain sole copyright and use of your introduction, commercial or sales message.

Arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment

To make your production as smooth and comfortable as possible, we ask that you email your 60-second script to VideoMediaLab@eWomenNetwork.com before you arrive at the Conference. Otherwise, we will need you to bring a memory stick with your script saved to it so that we can directly insert your message into a teleprompter. Please be sure to arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled Video Media Lab appointment. Your early arrival will allow for hair and makeup touch-ups prior to your video session, and will give you time to work with our team to practice your commercial. Below are a few tips to help you prepare for your Video Media Lab session.

What to do to prepare:

  • Write out exactly what you would like to say and time it – make sure it’s comfortable for you and no longer than 60 seconds.
  • Remember Less Is More – better to say less with emotion than more while speaking too fast.
  • Practice in the mirror, practice your facial expression so you become comfortable.
  • We recommend that you stay with solid colors, rather than plaids, stripes, etc.
  • Pay attention to how newscasters look on television, their facial expressions, movements, etc.
  • Make sure that you get plenty of rest before the taping.
  • Come to your appointment "camera-ready" meaning that you will already have your hair and makeup done as there will only be time for touch-ups before your taping.

Ideas for what to communicate:

  • A personal welcome to a person visiting your website.
  • Aim your message toward one person and not a group. Only one person will see your video message at a time so keep your message singular, imagine you are speaking to only one person.
  • Provide helpful tips of what they will find on your website or the product or service you are offering.
  • If you’re selling yourself as a speaker or coach, give your title and expertise – let them know why they should listen to you?
  • Focus on the customer benefits – talk about what’s in it for the user, what they will gain, how you can help them.

Don’t wait to book your session! Take advantage of the early booking discount price of $395.

The price will be $495 for all appointments booked at the Conference, August 5 - 8, 2009.

Note: Only one commercial or sales message recording is allowed per session. Due to the exclusive nature and limited availability of Video Media Lab sessions, there are no refunds for late arrivals or missed appointments. If you have any questions prior to your arrival at the Conference, please send an email to VideoMediaLab@eWomenNetwork.com.
