Amy Lawrence’s idea for her business came to her quite suddenly one afternoon. Previously, Amy had been a special education teacher for 11 years, working with autistic students. While having tea with her mother one day, Amy told her, “This is what I want to do now. I want to open my own tea room.” Amy then spent a year researching, wrote her business plan and became a certified tea consultant. In August of 2003, Amy’s dream came true. Since then, Amy has written four cookbooks and won Best Small City Tea Room in the United States.
